There is no such thing as a kid who hates reading. There are kids who love reading, and kids who are reading the wrong books.
ENCOURAGING READING ONE NEIGHBOURHOOD AT A TIME!
As a 10 year old boy, I used to think of reading as a chore. I was forced to read earlier on in my life. As time went bye, I began to enjoy reading as I would get so engrossed in a book that I would be transported to magical places everyday - one day it would be to Missouri leading the life of Tom Sawyer, and one day to Hogwarts.
It is a privilege to read a good book, and really get captivated by the authors imagination. I read the Harry Potter series and this has only increased by love for picking up books from different genres. My family take reading as a virtue as it leads to a great life later on!
I have begun to love reading, and by reading I have widened by horizons and knowledge. It is my mission now to get kids to read at an early age. Instead of books lying on our shelves at home, why not put them in accessible places, where kids of all ages can pick up a book, read, and replace it with something they want to share with others.
Welcome to the reading revolution. Welcome to MICROBOD
We have to spread the news that reading has risen again. Move over Electronic "things", the book is here to stay. To do this, we set about building a micro library. But not just any micro library, one that is fashioned around the Bodleian in Oxford - a collection of micro-libraries so large that it can compare with the biggest in the world with the number of books it can hold. But, we had to start somewhere, and for that we built one in London.
We only need your support to meet the 4 goals that we have:
FIRST
Create a vast network of hyper-local libraries - libraries in every street corner of the world. To achieve this, we want your help to build & stock a MICROBOD anywhere in the world
SECOND
Ensure that they are well stocked at all times. To do this, we are partnering with local clubs, schools, areas where children flock to continuously.
THIRD
Ensure that children start learning to read early. To achieve this, we will have books for children of ALL AGES
FOURTH
Ensure that it is accessible to all. To achieve this, we will ensure that every library is FREE.
